We’re off this morning to Covanent House to do some service work with children (we think). Two days in and a fantastic full day yesterday capped by a beautful “jazz mass” at Ascension has gotten us a bit sleepy. Yet I was up at 5:30 and I am hardly a morning person. Could it be that these students are renewing my energy?
By the way, we got treated to dinner by the parish at their monthly “martini night” and I was able to catch up with a bunch of old friends as well. A few students wondered why we were suggesting going to mass a second time. After mass, nobody wondered why. Fan-tastic homily by Fr John Duffell and great music. One student, Charlie who considered skipping the mass but went after hearing about said, “I really loved everything about that mass from start to finish. Thanks for suggesting that we go to mass again, I got so much more out of it.”
Today pray for us that we might continue to see Jesus in those we meet. Here we are ready to start the day.
