The reading from today’s morning prayer was:

None of us lives as his own master and none of us dies as his own master. While we live we are responsible to the Lord, and when we die we die as his servants. Both in life and in death we are the Lord’s. That is why Christ died and came to life again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Romans 14:7-9

Paul gives us a path today for our lives and for our death, namely, that we belong to God. May today each one of us rededicate ourselves to the Lord, just a bit more than we have in the past. How can we continue to dedicate ourselves to God? Can we turn our houses into space that’s a bit more “God-centric”? Can we honor our neighbors by distancing and wearing masks when we go out to keep them safe? Can we remember that God is not merely in the church buildings that we can’t open yet, but also in our homes and hearts and that it is up to us to reveal God’s love in whatever way we can?

Do we believe that God is present even in virtual space that we also share with others often enough these days?

Stay safe today and create a space for God.
